Timothy J. Ward
September 23, 1950 – November 6, 2025
Lovingly known as Tim, passed away peacefully on November 6, 2025, in his hometown of Philadelphia after a courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. He was 75.
Born on September 23, 1950, in Philadelphia, Tim lived a life defined by service, honor, and unwavering love for his family and country. He was a man of quiet strength, clever wit, and deep conviction—his presence a steady anchor through life’s storms.
Tim proudly served in the U.S. Army Special Forces as a Green Beret, Airborne Paratrooper, and Medic (MOS 18D) from 1968 to 1971. His commitment to duty continued throughout his life, earning degrees from LaSalle University and a Master of Science in Nursing from St. Joseph’s University. He went on to serve as Chief Nursing Officer at Episcopal Hospital, where his leadership and compassion touched countless lives. Tim also honored his fellow veterans as a member of the Honor Guard at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
On October 20, 1978, Tim married the love of his life, Carol, at Our Lady of Calvary. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with laughter, devotion, and the joy of raising a large and loving family. Tim was the proud father of Jack (Marie), Kevin (Linda), Shawn (Nicole), Joseph (Jessica), Christopher (Victoria), and Kristi (Megan), and the beloved grandfather of 20 grandchildren who will carry his legacy forward with pride.
He is also survived by his siblings Patricia (Joseph), Sheila, Maureen (Michael), and Joseph (Michelle), and was preceded in death by his parents Joseph C. Ward and Edna Ward, his daughter Donna Marie, and his brother-in-law William Pagliaro.
Tim’s passions were simple and sincere—he loved sports, history, and true crime TV shows. But above all, he cherished his family, his faith, and his country. His life was a testament to the values he held dear: Duty, Family, Honor, Country, and God.
We’ll remember Tim in the ripple of the wind across the American flag, in the crinkle of a Hershey’s Kiss wrapper, and in every Eagles chant shouted with passion and pride. His voice will echo in our laughter, his strength in our unity, and his love in every embrace shared among the family he built and protected.
Tim was our patriarch, our real-life hero, our guiding light. His legacy lives on in the bonds he nurtured, the values he instilled, and the love that surrounds us—his enduring gift to us all.
"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith."
