Patricia Nowak

Patricia "Patsy" Smith Nowak, age 87, a longtime resident of Huntington Valley, PA and Ocean City, New Jersey, passed away on December 28, 2025.

Patsy was born in 1938 to Joseph A. Smith and Justine Smith. She grew up in Mt. Airy, with her siblings Justine "Bonnie" Concannon and Joseph Smith. She graduated from Mount St. Joseph Academy and was she was a proud “Golden Girl” and attended Rosemont College. During her childhood Patsy spent summers in Ocean City, where she worked at Bob’s Grill and worked on her suntan with her sister, Bonnie

Patsy was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother whose life was centered around her family. For many years, she worked for the Abington School District as a teacher’s aide, where she was known for her dedication and care for the students she served. Patsy was also proud to serve her community as a Judge of Elections in Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, reflecting her strong sense of civic responsibility.

Patsy was an avid tennis player for over 35 years. She was also a skilled player of bridge and pinochle. She was also a gourmet cook who never failed to delight her friends and family on holidays and visits to the Shore.

In her later years, Patsy enjoyed life best at her home in Ocean City, New Jersey. She hosted many friends and family members on fun weekend retreats over the past 35 years.

Patsy was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years, Donald M. Nowak, and her son, Donald A. Nowak.

Patsy is survived by her son, Stephen Nowak (Sandra); her daughter-in-law, Cici Nowak; and her grandchildren, Emily Peregoy (Evan), Caroline Nowak, Alexis Nowak, Stephan Nowak, Nick Salsgiver and great-granddaughter Cora Peregoy, who were a great source of pride and joy in her life.

She was known for her strength, warmth, and the love she shared with her family and many friends. Her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Relatives and friends are invited to her Visitation Tuesday January 6th 9:30 AM at St. Albert the Great Church 212 Welsh Rd. Huntingdon Valley, PA 19006. Funeral Mass 11:00 AM. Interment Private.
